[Toboe winces, pulling the last of the splinters he could reach out of his arm]

I know what the others would say if they saw me like this now. Foolish runt, Troublesome pup. Always causing trouble and getting into it.

[He holds the hand of his injured arm pressed tight against the wound in his leg]

Maybe they were right, but I'm not a helpless runt anymore. You want to fight, you cruel crazy people. Well I'm not running anymore.
Throw your worst. I can take it. I'll show them I can take care of myself.

[He goes to stand and whimpers slightly, shaking a little]

Not this place again. It looks even worse than before and I swear that flower tried to eat me.

Why has nothing made sense since I woke up in this crazy place. And not just this crazy place either but the other crazy place that's less crazy.

No, I don't want any tea, or vials of liquid, or cakes. I don't want clocks or cards, or croquet. I just want a way to get away from all this craziness still my usual size and with my head intact where it belongs. I'm hungry and tired of running. I won't even chase that rabbit if I see him again

I don't want to play, but I guess I don't have much choice.

Mr. Cat, if you're still here, please tell me what to do. I'm afraid whether I win or lose, I'm still going to lose.

[The screen flickers on, a red brown wolf who had been in front of the camera jumps back surprised then sniffs at the lens curiously, tail wagging. A paw taps at the lens, making the camera shake slighlty and the doggish-wolf whines at it. Getting no response, Toboe sits down in front of the camera, the silver bracelets on his right paw clink together and glint in the sun. ]

( Private - Can only be heard by anyone who happens to understand/hear animal thoughts. )

[The wolf lets out a heavy sigh and lays down on some kind of back alley pavement, watching the camera as his ears swivel around at the city noises in the background. Glancing from side to side the wolf lifts his head and lets out a searching howl. ]
